Why Do Fireworks in the Philippines cause Tetanus?

Local fireworks manufacturers use cow, horse or carabao manure as an extender in their fireworks. Animal feces in fireworks is nothing new and the Department of Health's main concern is getting the word out- besides amputation and severe injuries one may get from a firework blast, there is also the danger of Tetanus.



Big or small injuries from firecracker blasts should not be ignored, Tetanus is a lethal infectious disease due to wounds exposed to the bacteria Clostridium tetani. After exposure from a firecracker blast, the powder or residue containing animal feces will seep into the wound and fester. A Tetanus infection erupts after a few days when spores of bacteria produce the deadly toxin tetanospasmin that affects the muscles causing the main sign of Tetanus which is lockjaw and muscle spasms. The muscle spasms can cause respiratory distress leading to death.

Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto welcomes a new addition to her growing brood Ondrea Bliss Sotto. Their eldest is their son named Quiel.





Ondrea Bliss Sotto was born last December 26, 2011 at 11:49 pm at St. Luke’s Medical Center at the Fort Bonifacio Global City.



Dina Bonnevie and Oyo Boy Sotto were in scrub suits taking pictures in the delivery room.
The baby girl weighed almost six pounds and Kristine Hermosa had a normal delivery.

Tyron Perez Suicide due to Marital and Gambling Problems says Wife Liv Espino

The death of Tyron Perez former Starstruck Alum and Telenovela actor, who has appeared in movies such as Twilight Dancers and Metlogs. He was found dead last December 29 in Valenzuela.

Tyron Perez was a dutiful and devoted husband to his wife Liv Espino, a flight attendant for Emirates Airlines. Tyron would cook for her, iron her stewardess' uniform and clean their apartment while she was away on flights abroad.

As for his wife, she is not so tongue-tired, as she's quick to go an a tell-all interview sans make-up to tell the public that her husband shot himself while on talking on the phone with her.

“Magpapakamatay na ako, magpapakamatay na ako,’ sabi niya. ‘Gusto mong marinig?’ Akala ko joke lang,” she said on Friday. “Binaril niya ‘yung sarili niya. Parang, bam. Parang nahulog na malaking book, parang ganoon. Nahulog na ‘yung phone. Hello ako nang hello wala na.”

She is also quick to confess what the public has never known about her husband, he has a gambling problem which has amounted to huge financial trouble for them. She could have kept mum about this til his funeral was at least over. Or she could have asked for a lawyer/spokesperson/family member to speak on her behalf and request for privacy. But nooo, she had to go on the news and say every detail.



Days before the incident, she tweeted that her Toyota Altis 2009 Model with plate number ZSP875 was stolen. Days later Tyron was found dead on the backseat of the said stolen car with a gunshot wound to the head. Police are still investigating the incident.

Currently, Tyron Perez' wake is being held at Loyola Memorial Park in Sucat, Paranaque City Philippines.

Ramgen Revilla Janelle Manahan Scandal: Viral Video rocks the Ramgen Murder Case

Just a day shy of 2012, a video of murder victim Ramgen Revilla and his girlfriend Janelle Manahan was initially released on Facebook and has gone viral on social media. Janelle Manahan has spent the last month in recovery after suffering gunshot wounds to the face.

Ramgen Bautista was killed by a masked intruder in BF Homes Subdivision in Parañaque City last October. Janelle and Ramgen's sister Ramona Revilla was inside the room during the attack.

So who is the possible source of this video? And why was this intimate video uploaded? Is this an attempt to discredit the witness Janelle Manahan? Would this video have come from the cellphone or digicam of the deceased found at the crime scene? Around November, specific text messages from the Ramgen's cellphone surfaced revealing financial squabbles between siblings.

But according to Janelle Manahan’s lead counsel Argee Guevarra, Ram Revilla's siblings took possession of his belongings after his death. More intimate videos of Janelle and Ramgen are yet to surface as stated by her lawyer.
