Pinoy Programmer Awarded $4,500 by Facebook

A Filipino programmer and Web developer Mr. Roy Castillo from Danao City, Cebu, Philippines was rewarded $4,500 (about P195,000) by Facebook under its bug bounty program. Wow!

He's also in White Hat list of Facebook's security team. Galeng!

And he also got a shirt from Yahoo for reporting security bugs in Yahoo! Mail. Ang kuripot naman ni Marissa Mayer. LOL

MMDA: Deceiving Road Signs on EDSA Santolan UTurn Slot

On your way to Greenhills/La Salle via northbound EDSA? If you plan to take the U-turn under B. Serrano Avenue (near Camp Crame), be careful. As you can see in the photos, the EDSA road signs leading to the U-turn say that ALL private vehicles are ALLOWED to take the U-turn that will take them to southbound EDSA leading to Greenhills and La Salle. 

But the truth is this is only allowed from 5:00PM to 6:00AM only. See the big blank green paint under “U Turn Allowed”? They painted the sign “Only from 5:00PM to 6:00AM” using a similar shade of GREEN color too to confuse the motorists! By the time you enter the lane, it’s too late and that’s the only time you can visibly read the allowed time period. By then, MMDA personnel are just waiting for you under the bridge to flag you down.

This has been going on for months with private vehicles as victims. The simple solution is just to replace the signs.

But MMDA has taken action via Twitter regarding the EDSA signage:

From MMDA Facebook page: Regarding the post going around about confusing signage at EDSA Santolan Uturn slot and MMDA enforcers allegedly preying on motorists in that area, the matter has been forwarded to both EDSA enforcement heads and to Traffic Engineering Center. The signages will be modified to relay a clearer message. 

Now at any time of the day you can make a u-turn goin' south bound.

Call Center Agent Steals Model's Identity on Facebook

A Call Center agent was arrested in a sting operation at Western Union, after she was caught receiving money from an Australian man she conned through the social networking site Facebook. The suspect, call center agent- Louella Tan, created a fake Facebook account using photographs of Fil-Norwegian model Janka Cederstam.

Cederstam filed a complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against the identity thief. Tan was arrested by the NBI Technical Investigation Division while she was collecting the money sent by the Australian.

“Nag-create siya ng new account, binago ang name pero pinalitaw na same person. Dahil maganda ang nasa picture, maraming nag-add as friends. Eventually had a relationship with this Australian national. ‘Yung Australian national naman, believing na may online relationship sila, was enticed to send money via Western Union dito sa Pilipinas,” said Palmer Mallari, chief of the NIB’s Technical Investigation Division.

Finally got some justice done! Finally caught the poser, played by the name of Jen Matheson (her real name is Louela Tan). Stealing pictures from people and using them to get money from men is a CRIME, it's called Identity Theft; It puts mine and my family's reputation at stake! I'll start deleting 'friends' on FB, will just keep those I'm actually close to as I see my photos on different websites even though it is set on private. To all the posers out there, stop doing what you're doing because you will get caught and brought to JAIL, just like this chick who we tracked for 3 and a half weeks now. Tomorrow we are going to court and finally getting this overwith..
