UFC Fight Night Manila: Mark Munoz vs Luke Barnatt

Mark Munoz just announced his UFC Fight Night Manila bout with Luke Barnatt will be his last. How fitting that his retirement fight will happen on his home turf.

"This fight is very important for me. My career had its ups and downs. It's like a storm has hit me and like all Filipinos, I want to show the resiliency that we're known for." Munoz said in a press conference at Solaire Resort and Casino.

The good news is, after his fighting days are over, Munoz wants to concentrate on coaching and plans to take an active role in helping MMA grow in the Philippines.

Other Asians are also in the octagon limelight- a bantamweight bout between undefeated Singaporean Royston Wee (4-0) and The Ultimate Fighter China winner Ning Guangyou (4-2-1).

Scheduled for May 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the UFC Fight Night 66 is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year in the Philippines.

The main headlining fight however is between former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar against former WEC featherweight titleholder Urijah Faber in a 145-pound, five-round main event. The co-main event features former Strikeforce and Dream champion Gegard Mousasi against Costa Philippou.
