Shane Del Rosario: Filipino MMA Fighter and UFC HeavyWeight Dies After Cardiac Arrest

Shane Del Rosario, a Filipino MMA fighter in the UFC circuit passed away last Tuesday November 26 at the age of 30 according to Shane's manager Jason House.


The fighter had been on a ventilator for 2 weeks which was used to assist with breathing. Shane kept fighting for his life, even squeezing his mother's hand whenever he was conscious.


Del Rosario' stats was 11-2 as a Pro, his only losses are in the UFC. He was undefeated until 2012, when Shane Del Rosario’s was injured in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. Uncertain if he would ever fight again, Shane still aimed for a full recovery and his return to the MMA fight circuit.


Sadly, doctors believe that Shane del Rosario suffered from a rare genetic anomaly called Long QT Syndrome, a condition that can bring about a life-threatening heart rhythm abnormality and can result in sudden death even in those who are young.
